The Hazardous Waste Manifest is changing: On March 4, 2005, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) revised the hazardous waste regulations and established a nationally standardized manifest to improve the tracking of hazardous waste shipments. With this regulation,

US EPA created a revised manifest form, continuation sheet and corresponding regulations. These new forms are intended to make the nation’s hazardous waste tracking system more efficient by replacing various state formats with one national form.

On September 5, 2006 and afterwards: only the new manifest forms and requirements will be acceptable for use. All Shipments of hazardous waste initiated by generators on or after September 5, 2006 must be accompanied by the revised manifest forms.

One major difference in this manifest is that the manifest tracking numbers are assigned by the Federal Government and cannot be changed for any reason thus you will no longer be able to mark through the manifest number and assign a new one.

Stone Environmental Services has all of the newly required federal documentation in stock and will start distribution as needed on September 5, 2006.

Please also note that the Federal Law requires the generator to list the Manifest Tracking Number and Start Accumulation Date on all of their waste labels.
